PENGARUH KOMPRES AIR HANGAT TERHADAP PENURUNAN NYERI LUKA EPISIOTOMI PADA IBU POSTPARTUM

Every mother who has undergone a labor process with a perineal wound will feel pain, caused by a spontaneous perineal tear. Wounds in the perineal area are often a problem for postpartum mothers. The pain discomfort experienced by postpartum mothers causes mothers to be afraid to move after delivery. This study was conducted to determine the effect of giving warm water compresses to reduce wound pain in episiotomy. By using the keywords (((postpartum) AND pain decreased) AND episiotomy wound) AND warm compress) in the google scholar and pubmed databases. Selection of 4 articles was conducted using JBI Critical Appraisal tools. Articles are taken from a reputable database, 1 article is taken from the Pudmed database, while 3 articles are taken from the Google Schoolar database. The selection was taken by taking into account the PICOS framework, then 4 articles were analyzed by Quasi-Experimental Study and 1 article was analyzed by Randomized Control Trials. Article 1 uses the Mann Whitney test statistical approach for bivariate and multivariate analysis, article 2 uses the Mann Whitney test approach with a two group pretest and posttest design, article 3 uses the Wilcoson statistical test with bivariate and univariate analysis techniques, article 4 uses a randomized clinical trial. with SPSS (Software Statistics) with T test and ratio test. There was a difference in the intensity of pain before and after warm water compresses were applied to postpartum mothers. Giving warm water compresses is recommended to reduce episiotomy wound pain but does not rule out the possibility that cold water compresses are also another alternative in providing interventions to reduce pain, because it causes blood vessel contraction (vasoconstriction), reduces blood flow to the wound area so that can reduce the risk of bleeding and oedema, cold compresses cause an analgesic effect by slowing the speed of nerve conduction so that fewer pain impulses reach the brain. For this reason, future researchers can compare the two interventions.
