TINGKAT KETERGANTUNGAN LANSIA PENDERITA KATARAK TERHADAP AKTIVITAS KEHIDUPAN SEHARI-HARI DI PANTI WERDHA PANGESTI LAWANG KABUPATEN MALANG

Abstract

Dependence of elderly due to the condition of many elderly experiencing physical and psychological setback. Meanwhile, when viewed from the level of independence is assessed based on the ability to perform daily activities. In the elderly decreased one of them is cataracts. Cataracts can lead to decreased productivity of the elderly, thus causing the elderly to experience dependence in performing daily activities. The purpose of this study is to identify the ability of the elderly in cataract patients in performing bathing, dressing / dressing, going to toilet, moving / moving, eating, bowel movement. The method used in this research is descriptive case study with two subjects of elderly cataract who experience dependency in fulfilling daily activities at Panti Werdha Pangesti Lawang on 4-16 June 2023. The focus of this study is the level of dependence on elderly patients cataracts in fulfilling the activity daily. The result of the research shows that both subjects are not able to perform daily activities independently. However, after three weeks of observation in a week for two weeks Subject I underwent a change in progress from severe dependency (5-8) with interpretation of score 8 to light dependence (12-19) with interpretation of score 13. Subject II also (12-19) with the interpretation of 12 scores remains light dependence (12-19) but the score increased to a score of 17 from the lowest dependency level of Total Dependence (0-4) and the lowest score of Interpretation (score 0) and the maximum score is (score 20) Mandiri. So as a health officer hendanya maintain the needs of the elderly who are dependent to help provide education to families and the elderly.
