STUDI ANALISIS IMPLEMENTASI EDUKASI FAKTOR-FAKTOR PENYEBAB TERJADINYA GASTRITIS PADA LANSIA DI RUMAH SAKIT LAVALETTE KOTA MALANG

Gastritis is one of the non-communicable diseases (NCDs) that ranks 6th in Indonesia. Gastritis is caused by Helicobacter pylori virus infection, which increases the risk of gastric ulcers and gastric cancer. H. pylori can gradually damage the gastric mucosa. The method used is a descriptive case study with a qualitative approach to two informants who meet the inclusion criteria. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations. The results showed that the education provided could improve understanding, form positive attitudes, and lead to healthier behavioral changes in one subject (Mrs. I), who began to implement a regular diet and manage stress. However, another subject (Mr. K) showed suboptimal changes because he still maintained the habit of smoking and drinking coffee even though it was reduced. The conclusion of this study is that health education has a positive effect on increasing awareness and changing the behavior of the elderly in preventing gastritis, but the success of education is influenced by the motivation and support of the subject's environment. A more intensive and sustainable educational approach is needed for maximum results.
